Not at all. Many of our members learn using learning tracks and guidance from section leaders.

Do I need to audition to visit?
No audition is required just to attend a rehearsal and see what it’s like.

What if I haven’t sung in years?
That’s perfectly okay! Many members join after taking a long break from singing.

What should I expect at my first rehearsal?

Love to sing? Join us for a Charleston Sound Chorus rehearsal and discover the excitement of making music in four-part harmony in the barbershop style!

We welcome women of all ages and vocal ranges—whether your voice is high, low, or somewhere in between, there’s a perfect part for you. No prior singing experience? No problem! Our members come from diverse musical backgrounds, from seasoned performers to those who’ve only sung in the shower. You’ll receive plenty of guidance on vocal technique and performance skills, with personalized coaching available at no cost to chorus members.
